Service Hours

Feed the Hungry Project Winter 2016

Followers of Jesus serve others! On the Confirmation Pilgrimage, not only do we learn about Acts of Mercy and Acts of Justice, we do them. Confirmands complete a minimum 16 hours of service within the ministries and outreach of Christ Church. This helps them experience a variety of ways one can serve, become familiar with service opportunities through Christ Church, and explore how God may be calling them to serve using their unique gifts and graces.

  • Confirmands record their service activities and hours in their Covenant Log.
  • Confirmands participate in at least one service activity with their mentors each semester.
  • In addition to service activities through Christ Church, a Confirmand may participate in one that his/her mentor or parent is personally involved – or that the Confirmand is involved - through work or a community organization.
  • A Confirmand in Scouts may receive up to four hours for service projects through Scouts.
  • Confirmands who register for the Mountain T.O.P or Passport summer mission trips receive credit for 10 hours of service.
  • Confirmands who register in the spring to be a summer Vacation Bible School (VBS) helper receive four hours of credit.
