FOOD IS BACK!

Thanks to our incredible volunteers we are able to offer food for Sunday pm Youth Group beginning this Sunday. Join us at 6 pm in the Youth Center and bring $3 per person. See you there!

Sunday AM Happenings

9 am: Laudate sings in worship ("Sing and Be Joyful"). 8:20 Donuts; 8:30 warm-up; 9:00 worship. Wear concert attire.

10:05 MS Handbells play for the 10:05 am service. Ringers in Laudate will be dismissed after the 9 am anthem for warm-up.

10:05 am MS Youth gather in Youth Center, then meet in 003/004 as we continue exploring rivers in the Bible

10:05 am HS Youth gather in The Stream to discuss the current event topic of gun violence facilitated by Dale Salyers; Mission and Prayer rooms also open.

Sunday PM Happenings

3:30 pm Laudate and MS will be performing at Jefferson Manor. 3:30 pm meet at Christ Church; 4:15 pm perform; 5:30 pm return to Christ Church. Concert Attire. No regular rehearsal this week.

5 pm FREE TIME in the Gym, Youth Center, Game Room and The Stream.

5-6 pm MS Boys pick-up basketball game in the Gym

6:30 pm For Confirmands: Scripture, Part 2, features a Skype interview with biblical studies professor Dr. Doug Hume and a time to bless your Bible in the Chapel. (So, make sure you bring your Bible!)

Register for One Voice Mission Tour to Indianapolis and Chicago
  • June 6-12
  • Open to all 9th-12th graders 
  • Registration deadline and nonrefundable $75 deposit is due February 1

Building on a Christ Church tradition, One Voice choir members go on the road to sing and serve in Jesus' name and this year the mission trip is open to all high school youth who want to be involved in urban ministry, serving in Indianapolis and Chicago. Singers and non-singers will experience Christ-centered community and the chance to be "one body, with many gifts." 

Register for Passport Summer Camp in Greensboro, NC
  • June 24-29
  •  Open to all current 6th-8th graders.
  • Registration deadline and nonrefundable $75 deposit is due November 26

Passport is a week of worship, fellowship, service and fun! We’ll join with youth groups from across the country as we learn about the gifts God has given each of us and how our gifts can make a difference in the world. Passport is open to current 6th-8th graders and will take place at Greensboro College in Greensboro, NC. To get a little glimpse into what Passport is like, check out this video.

Register for Mountain TOP Summer Mission Trip
  • July 8-14 
  • For current 8th-12th graders. 
  • Options include home repair and working with children at a Day Camp in eastern Tennessee. 
  • Confirmands get credit for 10 service hours when they register to participate.
  • Registration deadline and nonrefundable $75 deposit is due November 26

Open to current 8th through 12th graders, Mountain TOP is dedicated to rural life ministry in the mountains of Tennessee. We’ll join youth groups from other churches to serve the community through home repair service projects and day camp offerings.

Middle School and High School Basketball

Registration is still OPEN for Boys Basketball. The registration fee is $35 for the season per participant. 

High School Basketball for 9th - 12th graders. They will be weekly on Mondays and Wednesdays, 7:30 to 9 pm, through March 2018. Coaches are Lynn Ashkettle and Eddie Dohn. Register

Middle School Pick-Up Basketball, November 19, 5 pm - 6:15 pm
All 6th -8th grade boys interested in in playing on the MS Basketball Team are invited to come for a pick-up game this Sunday. Come and meet our MS Boys Basketball Coach Danny Yackey and assistant Brandon Dirks. Parents welcome too. Boys in Laudate will come after they return from choir outing. Food will be provided before Youth Group at 6:00 pm. No obligation necessary to play on the team. All are welcome.  

Middle School Basketball, 6th -8th graders; practice starts Nov 30, 5:45 pm - 7:15 pm, weekly through March 2018. Coach is Danny Yackey assisted by Brandon Dirks, Robby Knabel and Will Kinman. Register

Practices will be held at Christ Church Gymnasium. Games will be on Saturdays, January through March at Beargrass Christian Church on Shelbyville Rd. Players must have a 2017/2018 Emergency Contact Form on file.


Youth Agape Night Christmas Party at the House of Boom Sunday, December 3 REGISTRATION by November 30

6 pm Meet in Youth Center for prayer, then depart by shuttles and cars
6:30 pm Start check- in at the House of Boom; enjoy Holiday food in the Party Room
7-8 pm Jump Time
8 pm Return to Church
8:20 pm Back at Church

Cost is $15 per "jumping" participant (includes food and jump fee).

Registration open until November 30.

REGISTER

Must Haves:

  • Copy of House of Boom Waiver; complete your waiver online and bring a hard copy with you.
  • Gripper Socks required for all jumpers. Purchase at check-in, $2, if you don't already have a pair from House of Boom.

Transportation: 25-passenger and 12-passenger shuttles, plus cars. Parent drivers are needed! If you have an SUV or a van and can provide transportation to and from the event, please contact Amy Roberts.

High School Progressive Dinner - December 9 REGISTRATION IS OPEN

High School Progressive Christmas Dinner

Saturday, December 9, 5-9 pm. 

  • Shuttles leave from the Student Center parking lot promptly at 5 pm and return at 9 pm
  • Travel to three host homes in Oldham County, 
  • Stopping for appetizers, entrée, and dessert. 
  • Wear your holiday best!

One Voice and Laudate Winter Retreats 

Laudate Winter Retreat

January 19-20, Kavanaugh Retreat Center.

Laudate will be traveling to the Kavanaugh Retreat Center for some food, fun, and music! They will then travel to downtown Louisville and share their musical gifts with our community.

  • Depart from Christ Church at 6 pm January 19
  • Return at 2 pm on January 20
  • Cost $30
  • Friends welcome!
