Max Childers
K-5 Children's Ministry Coordinator
Office: (502) 657-0357
Max has been a member of Christ Church for since 2016 and on staff since 2023. She interned for two years within Children’s and Youth ministries before graduating with an undergraduate degree from Centre College and stepping into the role of Children’s Ministry Coordinator for kindergarten through fifth grade. She is passionate about storytelling, visual arts, and environmental conservation, and feeds her soul by writing, reading (and rereading) the works of J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis, hiking and swimming, and playing video games. She is married to her favorite adventure companion, Pyry, and is best friends with her cat, Gillie, and bearded dragon, Strider.
Through the children of Christ Church, she is reminded daily of what it means to be kind, brave, and gentle, and to stand, wonderstruck, before a playful and gracious Creator.
for God did not give us a spirit of cowardice, but rather a spirit of power and of love and of self-discipline. – 2 Timothy 1:7
“The sweetest thing in all my life has been the longing — to reach the Mountain, to find the place where all the beauty came from — my country, the place where I ought to have been born. Do you think it all meant nothing, all the longing? The longing for home? For indeed it now feels not like going, but like going back.” –C.S. Lewis, Till We Have Faces
