Why We Give

Everything that we have comes from and belongs to God, and we are simply managing those resources while here on earth. Giving is one of the ways we worship God, and one of the ways we demonstrate our love for God and for our neighbors.

It's amazing to see God's creativity, love and generosity on full display each and every day here at Christ Church. Our members generously give their time, service, talents and treasures, supporting our ministries and mission of Becoming Living Proof of God's Love.

Giving makes possible worship, programs for children and youth, outreach ministries, pastoral care and support, mission trips and community events. How much to give is a personal choice and we hope each person will commit a percentage of their income and increase that amount as they are able.

Important Note About Online Giving
Christ Church United Methodist is pleased to offer online giving for our members. While this can have advantages, we want each person who chooses this option to make sure they are giving in a spirit that is pleasing to the Lord. While there are several ways to give electronically, including automatic withdrawal from checking, debit cards and credit cards, we strongly discourage the use of credit cards if debt will be incurred. Proverbs 22:7 says "...the borrower is servant to the lender" and credit cards can cause many people to struggle financially. Christ Church will incur fees equal to 3% of your credit or debit card transaction for your payment on the website. Please consider this as you make your election. Thank you for your faithfulness and may God bless you.

CHURCHWIDE FOOD COLLECTION

About Red Bird Mission Food Drive

The Red Bird Mission, founded by United Methodist Women in 1921, serves and ministers to 3 counties in southeastern Kentucky. CCUM’s Pioneer Class is once again coordinating an annual food drive to help alleviate the food insecurity in that area and are thrilled to partner with the All Things New class this year in this decade-long effort! The collection will take place for the entire month of June. The list of non-perishable food items can be found below, as well as at the desk in Gathering Hall. Please place all donations in the bin outside Door #1 under the Portico, beginning June 1.
