Chair yoga is an energetic yet gentle style of yoga that is practiced sitting on a chair or using a chair for support, focusing on breath and movement coordination. In this class, participants can expect to transition through a series of poses, synchronizing movement with their breath. Chair yoga aims to improve strength, flexibility, and balance, while also enhancing mindfulness and relaxation. This practice is accessible to individuals of all levels, with adjustments and alternative poses provided to suit varying levels of expertise.
Steph Horne, a member of CCUM, is a certified RYT 200 Hour yoga instructor. Steph's focus on external and internal cues, and intuitive movement creates an energizing yet peaceful Chair Yoga experience for her students. Steph is dedicated to cultivating increased mobility, balance and strength, along with gratitude, mindfulness and overall wellness. When she's not on the yoga mat, you can find her with family, friends and her dog Buffy, teaching swimming, cross-training and volunteering.
