Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing. 1 Thessalonians 5:11
Our Spring Event was even more powerful than we’d imagined, when nearly 80 women gathered in the Youth Center to share from their lives and listen with their hearts. The feedback received that day assured us we need to do more events like this, asking for “more stories,” “more journaling time,” “more testimonies,” and “more time to share.” So, more it is, sisters!
On Saturday, June 24, we’ll meet in the Youth Center from 9:30am-12pm, as we welcome summer with iced coffee and lemonade, delicious treats, sparkling conversation, and meaningful stories from women of all ages and stages.
Drawing from her extensive work in counseling and coaching, Karen Lovett will teach us about “Transforming the Narrative: Seeing Negative Experiences in a New Light.” Finally, we’ll gather in small groups, try our hand at journaling, and listen to real stories from real women who are ready to take a leap of faith and share their journeys with us.
Come on your own or bring a friend. It’s going to be another memorable morning!
“I think you have touched on an important felt-need. The morning was a good platform for dipping our toes into the waters of deeper connections.”
Booked for Lunch is a monthly book club for women of all ages. We believe that stories provide a powerful avenue for thinking deeply about God and faith at work in the world. As we dig into books by bestselling authors, we ask deep questions: Where is God in this story? How do we see love, forgiveness, and grace play out in this text? How does this story affect me, or change my own faith journey as I’m becoming living proof of God’s love, one person at a time? Reading popular books gives us the opportunity to invite others into these conversations about God—whether at our monthly meeting or beyond—and to share the hope, joy and love that we experience while reading in community. We invite you to bring your lunch and join us on the 2nd Thursday each month.
We’re a group of moms with youngish kids, trying to build community to enjoy this stage of life together. We’re a mixture of moms from Christ Church School, Christ Church UM, and friends from all over town!
