Part of our vision at Christ Church United Methodist is to plant faith communities by carrying the Good News of Jesus to where people are. The two current faith communities we have planted serve congregations who are in recovery for drug or alcohol abuse and are involved in treatment programs. The Bridge is a gathering where everyone is welcome and where two goals are constantly emphasized:
Share in the reading of Scripture, discussion and time of prayer followed by a brief fellowship with home-baked cookies from our "cookie brigade."
Share in a meal, time of prayer, lesson and devotion.
Got an idea for a community in need of love and forgiveness who are largely unchurched? Maybe the next faith community to be planted will be the one you help us identify…or maybe even the one you help start.

Founded in 2020, the Christ Church United Methodist Racial Justice Team has taken an active role in helping to educate our congregation on matters of race and cultural competency. In 2024 they voted to change the ministry name to Equity and Belonging, to reflect a larger scope. In accordance with the Social Principles of the United Methodist Church, the Christ Church Equity & Belonging Team affirms all persons as equally valuable in the sight of God and seeks ways to rejoice in the gifts that particular ethnic histories and cultures bring to the totality of our life together. The Team is constantly seeking opportunities for collaboration and participation among people as we work together toward greater diversity, equity, inclusion and relationship.
The community at Christ Church United Methodist is heavily involved in several area ministries/organizations offering financial support as well as the service of individuals and groups. CCUM is fortunate to have a number of members on the Outreach & Justice Committee who assist in identifying the needs within these entities as well as ways in which we can be part of their efforts. The Bridge Communities at Christ Church are a place where people are loved and accepted and can explore their faith in a safe and supportive way. They are more than community. They are family.
Three unique and powerful ministries sprouted from a tiny acorn, boldly demonstrating how God uses every calling for a higher purpose.
