“Beloved, I pray that all may go well with you and that you may be in good health, as it goes well with your soul.” 3 John 1:2 ESV
After graduating from Muskingum University in Ohio with her Bachelor’s in Communications, Jenny Fishback worked for Doe Anderson in Louisville as an Account Manager and Human Resources Specialist, founding and leading a morale building program for the agency, and coordinating community service events.
Marriage and motherhood filled the years that followed, until her passion for wellness led to her become a Certified AFAA Group Fitness Instructor with REFIT + REV+FLOW by REFIT. Since 2017, Jenny has led fitness classes at The Healing Place, at Christ Church, and at the Downtown Family YMCA. We are thrilled to have Jenny on the Women’s Ministry Team!
Q: How do you start your day?
A: Usually preparing breakfast for my three children. Once things settle, I’ll read my devotional for the day. My favorite is Five Minutes of Peace. And then I love to do some sort of movement or workout.
Q: What's your definition of “wellness”?
A: Wellness is about caring for and loving ourselves—spiritually, emotionally, mentally, and physically. Our body—every single inch of it, inside and out—is a gift from God! When we view our body as such, I believe it changes our relationship with how we care for it. That’s when wellness becomes a priority!
Q: You suddenly have an hour free, all to yourself. What would you watch on TV? or read? or make? or do?
A: Well, all of the above! I love puzzles and reading, as well as watching Netflix and Hulu. Since I consider daily movement a priority and actually enjoy it, I’d walk, run, do REFIT, ISO stretch, and especially strength training.
Q: Where do you see Women's Ministry at Christ Church in 5 years?
A: A varied, diverse, supportive, close-knit group of women encouraging one another, yet always welcoming of new friends, and all active in serving those in need—reaching the West end, the South end, the East end, helping children and youth, families and seniors, and people dealing with addiction. I've learned that God's plans are always far more beautiful than I can ever envision!
